SteveN Tuttleman, Co-founding partner
Since 1985, Steven has directed and managed numerous acquisitions and financings for Blue 9 and affiliated investment groups. Steve has served on the board of almost every Blue 9 investment, past and present, including Ebonite International, Discovery TSX, Hirtle Callaghan, Running Subway Productions, Five Below, Performance Bicycle, Icon Health and Fitness, Ginsey Industries and Evenstar Productions.
Steve also serves on the advisory boards of LLR Equity ( a$2 billion private equity fund) and the Bernstein Institute for Human Rights. He is a co-president of the Tuttleman Foundation and the Cuthrell Tuttleman Foundation. He has also served as Board President of Insight Meditation Society and on the school committee of Friends Seminary.
Steve is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and New York University’s Law School. He lives in NY City with his wife and 2 daughters.
allen bj paik, Co-founding partner
With over 20 years of private equity experience, Allen leads the firm’s investment efforts that range from venture and growth capital investments to buyouts. Allen works closely and actively with portfolio company boards of directors, and advises senior management on strategic, organizational and financial issues.
Prior to Blue 9 capital, Allen was VP of M&A at Prudential Financial. He also was a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and worked in financial management roles at both PepsiCo and CBS.
Allen holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Middlebury College. He lives in NY City with his wife and 2 sons.
Divya viveka chaudhary, principal
With over 7 years of combined impact investment and project management experience, Divya works closely with the firm’s partners in all aspects of firm-level investing activities, with a focus on venture capital and fund-level investments. She is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities across assets classes and industries, including the urban innovation, healthcare, education and consumer sectors.
Prior to Blue 9, Divya worked at Flat World Partners, an impact investing investment manager, and Archer Gray, an early stage media-tech venture capital firm based in NY City. Prior to venture, Divya worked at Disney ABC in the digital strategy division and Sesame Workshop in India in the educational, financial empowerment and healthcare project management division.
Divya holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, a Masters in Film Studies from the Mass Communication Research Center, New Delhi, and a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi.
